Best time to visit

EVERYDAY... as this place is heaven on earth! But realistically we would say in off-peak times (When schools are not on vacation). The national park can get fully booked in holiday seasons which are in December to Mid January and end of June to mid-July.

Wildlife to expect

PHOTO-2026-08-13-12-24-51.jpg

The Big Five (Lions, Leopards, Rhino's, Buffalo and Elephants), Giraffes, Hippo's, Crocodiles, a huge range of 157 different bird species (which we know by name!), buck, Hyenas, insects etc.

Malaria info

Certain regions in Southern Africa, including low-altitude wildlife areas like the Greater Kruger, fall within seasonal malaria zones. The transmission risk fluctuates throughout the year, peaking during the warm, rainy summer months (October to May) and dropping during the cooler, dry winter season. Standard safety precautions—such as applying insect repellent containing DEET, wearing long sleeves and trousers in the evening, using mosquito-screened accommodation (which we are), and consulting a medical professional regarding preventative antimalarial medication—ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience.
