With a deep-rooted love for the African wild, John and Alta bring years of bushveld experience, native animal knowledge, and an expert eye for birding to every expedition. Though Bushlover Safaris officially launched in 2019, their history with nature runs much deeper. Having previously managed and hosted rustic bush camps, they possess a complete, fully equipped mobile camp setup and a masterclass understanding of authentic wilderness living.

 

Each brings a unique mastery to the safari experience:

 

• John – Wilderness Guide & Bush Chef: A former proffesional hunter and award-winning chef. An absolute asset in the field, John’s sharp tracking eyes and deep knowledge of the bush ensure unforgettable wildlife sightings. Back at camp, he takes charge of the fire, crafting legendary braai's and rich, flame-cooked meals under the stars.

   

• Alta – Hospitality & Style Director: Honorary Ranger in Kruger National Park for 16 years. Alta brings warmth and luxury to the wild. From elegant table settings and thoughtful guest welcome gifts to beautifully curated room arrangements, her eye for detail ensures every corner of camp feels inviting and refined.
